Hereditary Cancer Testing

Why Get Genetic Testing?

10-15% of most cancers are due to inherited genetic mutations. This test is absolutely relevant for individuals with a family history of cancer, and for those who carry increased health risks associated with environment or behavioral factors. Knowing you have a mutation that increases your risk allows you and your healthcare provider to create a personalized plan designed to prevent or detect cancers like breast, ovarian, colorectal, and pancreatic at earlier or more treatable stage.

This test analyzes 30 genes including BRCA1 and BRCA2 to help you understand your risk for most common hereditary cancers. The markers serve as 'red flags' in your DNA and can indicate if you are predisposed to a certain type of cancer. Hence, you and your family members can be better informed of their predisposition towards the cancer, and take the necessary steps to maintain their health.
